This month's Alumni spotlight goes to Mr. Mark Gagnon.
Greetings from the Middle East.
Since leaving Gemini Industries, I had a brief stint with Oberon before accepted a position as the Lead Configuration Manager for the 609th Combined Air and Space Operations Center (CAOC). I have been on this contract just shy of two years and have extended for another year.
As the Configuration Manager, I lead a team that provides mission support to the Combined Force Air Component Commander (CFACC). I primarily ensure that the change management process for the CAOC is operating efficiently. The CFACC provides command and control for coalition and joint air and space operations across CENTCOM's area of responsibility, including close air support, time sensitive targeting, electronic warfare, airlift, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, refueling, combat search and rescue, air defense, and airspace control in support of Multi-National Force-Iraq, International Security Assistance Force, United States Forces–Afghanistan, and Combined Joint Task Force–Horn of Africa.
I owe my gratitude to Gemini Industries for bringing me in as one of their Configuration Analysts to support the AOC Weapon System contract. My experience on the Fielding Team without a doubt prepared me for this assignment. The relationships that I established while working at Gemini Industries are paying big dividends, too. Whenever I need support from outside of my site, I get immediate results, which makes my job a lot easier from half way around the world. My team manages over 400 configuration items and processes over 200 new requirements per month.”
